Beginners and improvers crochet classes.

Would you like to learn to Crochet?  Or are you ready for the next step, but need some help?

This is a lovely workshop to make a stunning shawl from the beautiful Wolltraum yarn.  The Wolltraum yarn is a gradient yarn which makes for a gorgeous finished piece.  The beginners group will make a beautiful shell shawl and the improvers group will make the stunning Le Letty shawl.

Wolltraum translates into "Wool Dream", and these yarns really are dreamy!  My Melodyy Yarn from Wolltraum is 50% Cotton/50% Acrylic - this yarn is so soft and breathable and is suitable for creating nearly anything.  Each cake (Bobbel) is handwrapped and the fabulous gradient are created by tying each colour strand to the next colour with tiny knots easily worked and quite invisible in any finished project. The fine strands are multiple wrapped so each of the single strands are lying next to each other.  The completed Bobbels are stunning and perfect for special projects or are a beautiful gift. These really are a beautiful yarn.

The crochet classes are held at The Cottage Tea Rooms in Brinscall and include the following:

Full deluxe crochet kit with your choice of yarn weight (1 cake of Wolltraum yarn of your choice, Prym Ergonomic 4mm crochet hook, Printed Pattern)

3 hours of tutoring

Full access to a private facebook group for your kit where there are step-by-step video tutorials, hints and tips, questions and answers.

The finished size of your shawl depends on the size of the yarn cake you choose

The approximate sizes for the various cakes are as follows:

150g/570m: 

Width across top of the shawl: 150cm  

Length from centre of top to point of shawl: 60cm

200g/760m: 

Width across top of the shawl: 170cm  

Length from centre of top to point of shawl: 70cm

250g/950m: 

Width across top of the shawl: 185cm  

Length from centre of top to point of shawl: 75cm

300g/1140m: 

Width across top of the shawl: 210cm  

Length from centre of top to point of shawl: 85cm

Please note these are approximate sizes as the actual size will vary with individual tension.

The workshop runs from 10am to 1pm at The Cottage Tea Rooms, 25 School Lane, Brinscall, PR6 8QS.

Dymphna will look after the beginners.  This group is perfect for absolute beginners who do not know any crochet at all or if you have done a little but feel that you would like to learn again.  The kit will have everything you need and Dymphna will help you every step of the way.

Lisa will look after the improvers.  This group is aimed at those who can crochet but would like to try new stitches, learn to read a pattern and to make more complicated items.  Lisa will explain and demonstate every stitch, explain how to read a pattern and support you with any queries at all.

After the class there is full access to a private facebook group to where every step of your kit is demonstrated in high quality videos, there are explanations, chats, questions and answers. The videos will show you, for example, how to hold your hook, how to make a slip knot, right through to how to crochet the stitches for the blanket.
